Simple Strategy Using Vanguard Funds

  1. Put all your capital in the S fund if it has a buy signal

Put 100% of your capital in the S fund if it has a buy signal, otherwise put 70% of your capital in the F fund and 30% in the C fund. This strategy therefore switches between the S fund and a combination of the F and C funds based on market conditions. A fund has a buy signal if its short-term and long-term trends are positive (i.e. have an upward trend). This implies that when I'm holding S fund and either the short-term or long-term trend of this fund turns negative then I will replace it with the alternative funds (F and C). I switch back to the primary fund (S) when both the short-term and long-term trend of the primary fund (S) are again positive.
